Ryan McLane, General Manager
Ryan McLane was born and raised in rural Saskatchewan. He attended the University of Regina and graduated in 1995 with a Bachelor's Degree in Psychology. He was licensed as a Funeral Director and Embalmer in the Province of Saskatchewan in 1997. He moved to Victoria, BC later that same year and assumed the role of funeral director and Assistant Manager in the Victoria area. He moved to First Memorial Funeral Services in Vancouver in June 2000 where he managed the funeral home until 2003. He then moved to Ocean View Funeral Home and Burial Park in Burnaby where he remained until moving back to Victoria in March 2007. Presently Ryan is the General Manager at First Memorial Funeral Services, Crematorium and Garden of Memories. Ryan is a very kind and genuine individual who enjoys helping and meeting new people. He enjoys staying fit and eating healthy. Ryan enjoys quiet nights with friends and family who are a very important part of his life.

Robert T. Doucette, Location Manager
Rob was born and raised in Westville, Nova Scotia. He comes from a family that is deep in tradition in the funeral industry. He grew up next door to the family owned funeral home, and is now a third generation funeral director and embalmer. Rob graduated in 2000 from St. Francis Xavier University in Antigonish, NS with a Bachelor of Arts degree majoring in history. He went on to complete the Funeral & Allied Health Services program from Nova Scotia Community College Kingstec Campus in Kentville, NS in 2004. He was awarded top honours receiving the Atlantic Funeral Association award and bursary which combines academic achievement with practical proficiency. After graduation, Rob started his apprenticeship in Nova Scotia, and later became licensed in Fredericton, New Brunswick. Rob united with the team at First Memorial Funeral Services in February 2007. Recreational hobbies include playing golf and hockey.

David Quinlan, Funeral Director
David immigrated to Canada from Ireland in 1970 and started his career in funeral service in 1972 right here in Victoria. His initial duties were to keep the cars and building clean, drive on the occasional funeral service and to be the "in-house" answering service during the closed hours; however, he developed a keen interest in embalming and was eager to learn. This led to a long tour of service with another local funeral home and he started with First Memorial Funeral Services in 1988. Matthew Ferguson, Pre Arrangement Manager
Matt Ferguson lives with his wife of 20 years and his two teenage daughters on a small hobby farm in Sooke BC. Matt has been the sales manager for First Memorial Funeral Services, Vancouver Island since 1998 and has been in pre-need Funeral and Cemetery service since 1983. Matt has a strong conviction for pre-arrangement, having worked with families at the time of need and seeing first hand the unnecessary burden placed on survivors when no specific wishes or arrangements have been made. Matt’s hobbies include: horseback riding, hiking, fishing and working around the farm.

Rosemarie Clark
Rosemarie’s passionate, results-driven service attitude has been key in developing relationships with integrity and respect. She grew up in Montreal and has lived across the country including 9 years in Saskatchewan and 18 years in Victoria where she and her husband raised three children. Alicia Thompson
Alicia Thompson was born and raised in the Victoria area, now currently living in Sooke, BC Alicia started with First Memorial Funeral Services in 1999 where she enjoys working with families helping them with their prearrangement needs. Her seven years experience gives her a great understanding and knowledge in all areas of funeral and cemetery planning. Alicia also enjoys meeting with groups and giving group information sessions. She finds meeting and helping families a very rewarding and fulfilling part of her life. In her spare time she enjoys spending time with her family and friends. Sharon Bruton
Sharon has lived in the Western Communities and the Victoria area for most of her life. She has been a Family Service Consultant with First Memorial Funeral Services since 1997. Lenora was born and raised on Vancouver Island, BC (Saanich Peninsula) and is now currently living in Saanichton, BC with her husband of fifteen years and their three children. A former teacher, Christine is married to Ron and they live in the Ardmore area of North Saanich. Christine served on the Board of Mary Winspear and has been active in The Peninsula Celebrations Society, the Peninsula Country Market and coordinated the Sidney Summer Market. Many newcomers will have met Christine during her time with the Sidney/North Saanich Welcome Wagon Program.

Walter Bird
Walter Bird is a Family Service Advisor with First Memorial Funeral Services. He was born in Orillia Ontario and in 1982 he moved to Campbell River B.C., where he worked in the Convenience Store industry. He moved to Victoria in 2007 and most recently was in Sales in R.V. sales. Walter has over twenty-five years experience working with the public and believes in Customer Service excellence. Fred King
Fred is originally from Ontario and now lives in Victoria with his wife Susan and dog Molly. He spent more than 20 years as a newspaper editor in the U.S. before entering the senior care field where he managed nursing homes and retirement communities. Fred made the transition to Funeral Services Advisor last fall and finds the work "interesting and rewarding". His favorite quote from clients is "I didnít know that". That's when Fred helps to educate them in pre-planning their funerals.
